Global markets rotate as tech shares slide and US Treasury yields drop

Global financial markets are seeing an intense rotation this Friday. The sharp decline in tech stocks during the previous session triggered an immediate search for safe-haven assets. The Nasdaq index posted its worst daily performance since June following significant losses for companies like Meta.
The yield on ten-year US Treasury notes saw its largest daily drop since March 2023. The rate fell below 5% for the first time in a month. This behavior reflects investor caution in the face of stock market instability.
The trend toward safety reached Asian markets this morning. Japanese sovereign bonds and the yen saw significant gains due to increased demand. Meanwhile, Volvo Car shares fell as much as 30% in Stockholm after the company reported a quarterly loss.
In the tech sector, Apple is maintaining positive performance, contrasting with the widespread losses. The company began in-store sales of a new iPhone model in several countries. At the same time, OpenAI is negotiating a funding round that could push its market value to 1.25 trillion dollars.
