Apollo Global Management is finalizing the acquisition of nearly 10% of Mubadala Capital. The firm serves as the alternative asset management arm of the Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund.
The agreement strengthens a long-standing partnership between the two institutions. They already collaborate on debt financing and capital for global companies.
In 2023, the parties created a 2.5 billion dollar joint venture focused on private credit. This new transaction consolidates Apollo's presence in the Middle East.
Mubadala Capital manages over 755 billion dollars in total assets. Its alternatives business has grown to more than 60 billion dollars under current management.
The operation reverses the traditional investment flow between the United States and the Middle East. Apollo now becomes a direct investor in Abu Dhabi's strategic vision.
The move reflects the belief that gaining scale is essential in the asset management sector. Mubadala Capital maintains offices in cities such as New York and Rio de Janeiro.
