Samsung Electronics shares closed down 4.13% this Thursday. This movement occurred shortly after the company released its third-quarter financial results. The decline happened even as the company reached a record operating profit exceeding 100 trillion won.
The tech giant's revenue rose 126.88% compared to the same period last year. Operating profit saw a 783.11% jump on an annual basis. The company also announced cash dividends totaling 30 trillion won for shareholders.
The positive performance was driven by the semiconductor division and high demand for memory chips used in artificial intelligence. The memory sector achieved unprecedented quarterly revenue and profit due to increased sales of HBM4 products and storage units for servers.
Despite the numbers, the market showed little enthusiasm for the report. Analysts point out that excessive reliance on the memory chip segment raises concerns about the true diversification of the business. The stock valuation now seems strictly tied to memory prices in the global market.
The company projects that investments in artificial intelligence infrastructure will gain momentum in 2027. The strategy includes expanding the supply of high-performance memory for data centers and storage systems.
