Boeing shares fell 9% on Tuesday. The company announced it does not plan to significantly increase production of the 737 Max model before the end of 2027. The current manufacturing pace stands at 47 units per month.
CEO Kelly Ortberg stated that the goal of reaching 52 planes per month is set only for the second half of 2027. The delay stems from difficulties in the wing production rate. The company is prioritizing the stabilization of production processes before accelerating aircraft deliveries.
In the third quarter, Boeing recorded a net loss of 116 million dollars. This result was an improvement over the 5.34 billion dollar loss reported in the same period last year. The defense unit performed well with a 15% increase in revenue.
Total company revenue rose 4% to reach 24.19 billion dollars. Free cash flow also showed growth compared to last year. Commercial aircraft delivery remains the primary pillar for the manufacturer's financial recovery.
The commercial aviation sector faced a 3% drop in revenue and a negative operating margin of 6.5%. The company cited higher supply chain costs and adjustments to production forecasts. The current priority remains focused on internal efficiency and quality improvements.
