Shares of the Dutch company Besi climbed more than 10% on Tuesday. The move followed the announcement from the American firm Applied Materials regarding the expansion of its stake in the company.

Applied Materials intends to increase its share in Besi from 9% to approximately 20%. The American company has held shares in the Dutch manufacturer since April 2025.

The goal of the transaction is to tighten operational ties between the two companies. The partnership focuses on essential technologies for the assembly and packaging of semiconductors used in artificial intelligence hardware.

Besi is globally recognized for supplying specialized machines to the chip industry. The stock price rose above 160 euros during the afternoon session.

Applied Materials formalized the decision through an accelerated share repurchase agreement. The market reacted positively to the consolidation of this strategic alliance in the technology sector.
