Jio Platforms has kicked off its initial public offering process with strong demand from major global asset managers. The Indian telecommunications and digital services company received bids exceeding $26 billion for the portion reserved for anchor investors.

The volume of orders for this specific segment of the offering was 30 times the amount available. Key participants include BlackRock, Singapore's GIC, Fidelity Investments, and JPMorgan Asset Management. The company set the share price at 1,119 rupees, reaching the upper limit of the stipulated range.

The company aims to raise approximately $3.2 billion in total. This figure represents the largest IPO in India's history in local currency terms. The firm, which counts Meta and Google among its investors, is seeking a market valuation of nearly $108 billion.

The final allocation for anchor investors has already been completed by the company. The subscription period for the general public begins this Wednesday and runs through Friday. Jio seeks to establish itself in the market as a technology giant rather than a basic service provider.

The massive flow of capital into emerging markets may boost demand for risk assets and impact global liquidity. This move by major institutional funds toward Indian technology companies shifts the perception of risk in Asian markets.
