Israeli forces intensified air and ground attacks across the Gaza Strip this Thursday. Drone strikes hit the Maghazi refugee camp and areas near Jabalia. The local Ministry of Health reported deaths and injuries resulting from the military actions.
Local authorities requested the immediate reopening of the Rafah crossing. The goal is to allow the departure of critically ill patients who require medical treatment outside the territory. Dozens of people have reportedly died while waiting for authorization to leave the region.
Reports show artillery fire against camps for displaced people in northern Gaza. Israeli forces are also demolishing infrastructure in Khan Younis and Gaza City. The al-Mawasi area, previously classified as a safe zone, was hit by an attack that killed Ministry of Economy staff.
The geopolitical instability in the Middle East is increasing risk aversion in global markets. This type of conflict tends to drive demand for safe-haven assets and may create volatility for the dollar and Bitcoin during periods of uncertainty regarding regional stability.
