SpaceX Restores High-Speed Internet Access in Ukraine

SpaceX has normalized access to Starlink and Starshield satellite communication systems in Ukraine. High-speed service is fully operational for moving equipment again following a period of technical limitations.

Elon Musk stated that the company restricted the technology because the Ukrainian government violated terms of service. According to the executive, the network was used for offensive drone operations that resulted in fatalities. He confirmed that the loophole used for those actions was closed by the company the previous week.

Ukrainian officials confirmed that the connection remains stable even at speeds exceeding 400 kilometers per hour. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine monitored the restoration of speed after reports suggested that the restrictions left the country vulnerable to Russian attacks.

President Donald Trump confirmed he spoke with Musk about the issue after reports indicated he had requested an end to the limitations. Prior to this, there was uncertainty regarding the origin of the order that restricted military use of the network. SpaceX maintains Starlink as a commercial network and Starshield as the version dedicated to government operations.

Instability in communications infrastructure within conflict zones increases geopolitical risk and may generate volatility in technology assets and the global market. The reliance on private services for military purposes impacts the perception of digital asset security and the dollar during times of international tension.
