Israeli military actions struck the Islamic University campus in Gaza City this Sunday. Three security guards died during the second attack on the same institution within a few hours. The site already showed severe damage caused by previous clashes.

Beyond the deaths on campus, seven students were wounded after a drone strike occurred moments earlier. Field reports describe massive destruction of structures and debris scattered across the area. UNESCO notes that almost all higher education institutions in Gaza have suffered damage or destruction since October 2023.

Other regions of the Gaza Strip also recorded fatal casualties due to bombings. The Nasser Medical Complex confirmed the death of two people in Khan Younis. Additional attacks were reported in Deir el-Balah and near the Hamad Hospital in the north of the territory.

The rising instability in the Middle East increases risk aversion in global markets. Geopolitical events of this nature usually push the dollar higher as investors seek safe-haven assets against volatility.

The situation reflects the continuation of the conflict and the difficulty of maintaining basic services in the region. Local groups have requested the intervention of international mediators to curb military operations. The destruction of civilian infrastructure remains a central point of the humanitarian crisis.
