An address linked to the attack on the Drift trading platform sent 25,710 ETH to the Tornado Cash mixer. The movement occurred on October 20 and almost completely emptied the wallet identified as Drift Exploiter 5.

The process involved 258 deposits made in just over two hours. The total value transferred equals approximately $63.1 million. This action took place six months after the original breach of the protocol, which occurred in April.

The April attack was attributed to the North Korean group UNC6862, according to investigations by Mandiant. At the time, Drift reported that the intruders gained administrative control over the platform's security council. The total amount taken from the protocol was estimated at around $280 million.

Drift maintains a recovery fund to reimburse affected users. The program includes protocol revenue and assets recovered through legal action or bounties. In October, the company launched the DFX token redemption system to formalize client losses.

On-chain data analysts point out that the attacker still holds a significant amount of Ethereum in other wallets. The use of anonymization tools makes it difficult to track the funds and return the assets to the harmed investors.
