The asset management division of JPMorgan has published its first long-term analysis on Bitcoin. The report projects three distinct scenarios for the cryptocurrency's performance over the next ten years. The base case estimates a value of $215,000 for the asset.
The study presents an optimistic outlook where Bitcoin could reach $385,000. This result would occur with projected annual returns of 16.6 percent. Conversely, the bearish scenario predicts a drop to the $25,000 range.
The financial institution compares the potential of the asset to American stocks and gold. Bitcoin would outperform the expected return of 7.5 percent for large-cap stocks and 5.5 percent for gold. The estimated annual volatility for the crypto asset is 55 percent.
The valuation models consider global monetary expansion as a determining factor. Direct competition with gold accounts for 30 percent of the weight in the projections. Network adoption holds a smaller share in the bank's final calculation.
The document emphasizes that the analysis does not represent a strategic allocation recommendation. The bank recognizes that Bitcoin is gaining increasing relevance for institutional investors. The projections serve as a reference for different market conditions.
