The cryptocurrency market is facing intense pressure this weekend. Bitcoin has retreated to its lowest level in over a month and is now trading below the $80,000 mark.
The devaluation follows reports that the United States government is pulling staff from embassies and military bases across the Middle East. Intelligence reports suggest that Iran is preparing attacks against American targets in multiple regions.
The Director of National Intelligence sent a memo to the Secretary of State detailing that Iranian plans have reached advanced stages. This movement is more extensive than the departure orders previously issued for diplomats in Saudi Arabia.
President Donald Trump mentioned the possibility of new military actions against Iran after the November elections. The tone of his rhetoric increases uncertainty regarding global geopolitical stability.
Other digital assets are following Bitcoin's downward trajectory. Ether, XRP, and Solana recorded losses between 3% and 4% over the last 24 hours as investors show risk aversion in the face of the conflict scenario.
