Companies like Strategy and Strive face the challenge of maintaining investor appetite for perpetual preferred shares. These securities serve as the primary vehicle for raising capital to fund Bitcoin purchases. The accumulated volume has already reached 136,000 units of the cryptocurrency in less than two years.
The business model requires a constant balance between expanding digital reserves and paying recurring dividends. As the number of outstanding shares increases, the pressure on cash flow to honor these payouts also grows. These assets occupy a middle ground between debt and traditional equity.
The market for Bitcoin-focused preferred shares currently moves about 12 billion dollars. Analysts note that this segment attracts a different investor profile than those who prefer exchange-traded funds. The target audience seeks periodic yields that conventional ETFs do not offer.
The success of these operations depends on management competence and the ability to sustain variable payments. Just one of the available financial products raised 7.5 billion dollars between the beginning of 2026 and the end of July. The growth of this model may serve as additional support for long-term cryptocurrency demand.
The expanded use of preferred shares to fund corporate Bitcoin reserves increases liquidity risk for issuers and could heighten stock volatility if dividend demand outpaces the appreciation of digital assets.
