Samsung Wallet Adds USDC on Solana for US Users
New feature enables stablecoin transactions on Galaxy devices without the need to manage private keys.
Samsung has enabled stablecoin support within its digital wallet for Galaxy device users in the United States. The service allows users to buy, store, and transfer USDC on the Solana network directly through the company's official app.
This functionality removes the need for third-party crypto applications. The system was developed in partnership with Bastion and utilizes the custody infrastructure of Coinbase Prime Vault.
Approximately 82 million devices are compatible with this update. The feature requires Android 13 or higher and is available to US residents over the age of 18, with the exception of New York state.
Users can send funds to other wallets or perform international transfers to bank accounts in more than 60 countries. The company stated that it plans to expand the tool to include in-store payments and new markets in the future.
The adoption of stablecoins by major electronics manufacturers expands the usability of blockchain technology for the general public. This move could increase the liquidity and acceptance of dollar-pegged digital assets within global payment ecosystems.
