Regional terminals already run by private firms officially join the National Privatization Program.

The federal government has officially included 13 regional airports in the National Privatization Program and the Investment Partnerships Program. Decree 13.142, published this Tuesday in the Federal Official Gazette, formalizes private management for these units across eight Brazilian states.

The terminals are located primarily in the Northeast, with others in the North and Center-West regions. Although the measure was just published, all these airports have been under private administration since last year following auctions held by the Ministry of Ports and Airports.

The National Civil Aviation Agency will be responsible for incorporating these assets into existing concession contracts. The process follows the guidelines of the AmpliAR program, which seeks to attract investment for regional airport infrastructure through simplified competitive models.

If no valid proposals are received for the terminals, the government may adopt permanent offer regimes or direct allocation. The measure reinforces the official interest in keeping these assets out of direct state administration to improve operational efficiency and regional aviation development.

Consolidating infrastructure concessions can reduce long-term fiscal risk and boost investor confidence in the Ibovespa.
