BP's net profit quadrupled between July and September compared to the same period last year. The company reached $4.7 billion for the quarter. The performance exceeded financial market analyst projections.

Earnings growth was driven by instability caused by the conflict in Iran. This scenario raised oil prices and expanded the company's refining margins. Adjusted operating profit, a metric closely watched by investors, jumped to $8.46 billion.

In addition to higher margins, the oil company reduced its net debt by $8.4 billion. The firm took advantage of the rise in fuel prices to strengthen its balance sheet. This move comes ahead of a new corporate strategy presentation in December.

Refining operations benefited from the spread between the cost of crude oil and the final value of fuels. Each barrel produced generated a margin of about $47. The company highlighted its logistical adaptability in the face of global supply disruptions.

BP's financial result reached its highest level since 2008. The company operated its refineries near maximum capacity to fill supply gaps in the international market. The energy sector remains focused on the volatility caused by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
