iPhone maker faces margin pressure while Palantir sees a slowdown in new U.S. commercial contracts.

Shares of Apple and Palantir fell in pre-market trading this Tuesday. The decline followed the release of financial results from both companies after Monday's market close.

Apple beat revenue projections for the fourth quarter. However, iPad sales fell short of estimates and the company's margin forecast disappointed investors. The firm is currently dealing with high memory costs and difficulties in sourcing essential components.

New CEO John Ternus noted that the company finished its best fiscal year yet. He emphasized that growth occurred despite supply chain constraints and currency challenges. Profitability is also under pressure due to the costs of implementing Siri artificial intelligence.

Palantir beat third-quarter estimates as U.S. commercial revenue outpaced the government sector. Despite this, the company reported a slowdown in the growth of total commercial contract value. Analysts are now trying to confirm if this result is a one-time event or a structural shift.

Memory shortages are expected to limit the supply of Macs and iPads in the coming months. Demand for these products continues to exceed the manufacturer's initial planning. The market is now evaluating whether the tech sector's 2026 rally still has momentum in light of these new projections.
