President Donald Trump has resumed campaign activities following a break at his Florida estate. The primary goal of his trips to Iowa and Kansas is to ensure the Republican Party retains its majority in the United States Senate.

In Dubuque, Iowa, the contest involves protecting a critical Senate seat and the governorship. The Republican Party is also fighting to defend its narrow margin in the House of Representatives within a district that has become highly competitive.

In Kansas, the schedule includes a visit to Salina to support Senator Roger Marshall. The state is facing an unexpectedly tight race against Democrat Adam Hamilton. Recent polls show that Trump's approval rating among rural voters reached 45 percent in October.

The electoral landscape covers 35 Senate seats and the entire House. Losing either legislative chamber would allow Democrats to block the presidential agenda and launch investigations into the administration. More than 52 million voters have already cast their ballots through early or mail-in voting.

Uncertainty regarding the midterm election results is increasing volatility in global markets by threatening the continuity of current economic policies. The possibility of political gridlock in Washington tends to drive demand for safe-haven assets and put pressure on the dollar.
