Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has announced the development of a new programming language for the network. The project features collaboration with engineer Lucas Rosa from Input Output Global. The technology aims to support intent-based transactions and data using Groth16 cryptographic proofs.
This initiative runs alongside preparations for the Leios scalability upgrade. Hoskinson describes this milestone as the completion of the original vision for the blockchain infrastructure. The move seeks to enhance technical capacity after years of continuous development.
However, economic data from the network reveals a scenario of low activity. Decentralized finance applications on Cardano hold only 63 million dollars in total assets. Daily trading volume on the network's decentralized exchanges remains below 1 million dollars.
The contrast between the market value of the ADA token and real liquidity raises questions about commercial adoption. By comparison, ecosystems like Solana record significantly higher deposits in decentralized finance. The scarcity of liquidity makes it difficult to execute large financial operations without causing major price swings.
Current performance reflects a challenge for the network in attracting capital and users. The supply of stablecoins on Cardano totals about 70 million dollars. This amount limits the possibilities for activities such as lending and trading within the ecosystem.
