The Chinese government has set 2030 as the deadline for completing its national blockchain infrastructure. The directive is part of the five-year informatization plan released by the Cyberspace Administration of China. The document highlights the need to integrate the technology into commercial and financial operations within the Yangtze River Delta region.
The project also envisions large-scale implementation of the technology in the manufacturing and agricultural sectors. The goal specifically covers the Chengdu and Chongqing regions in the southwest of the country. Authorities aim to strengthen technical standards and improve the flow of digital data across the entire nation.
This initiative reinforces a strategy launched in 2019 by the central government. The current plan consolidates guidelines previously published by the Communist Party and the State Council. The objective is to boost the country's technological capacity through targeted investments in digital infrastructure.
Although it promotes the use of blockchain as a strategic priority, China maintains strict restrictions on activities linked to cryptocurrencies. The state focus remains on developing distributed ledger systems for administrative and productive efficiency. The technology is viewed as an essential pillar for the modernization of the Chinese economy over the next decade.
