Ledger is investigating tampered wallets sold in Asia and is responding by selling exclusively through its official website, to prevent tampering in the supply chain. The Atom costs $849 and is slated to ship in the summer of 2027 in the Northern Hemisphere. The device includes advanced anti-tampering protections.

The handset runs apps such as WhatsApp and Instagram and switches to a protected mode for asset management. The strategy turns the hardware wallet into a secure personal computer. The touchscreen makes it easier to interact with the protected mode.

The convergence appeals to users who would rather not carry two devices. The high price places the product in the premium segment. The risk of a supply-chain attack falls with direct sales, and self-custody becomes more accessible to non-technical users in Brazil and around the world.
