The crypto asset sector has allocated approximately 176 million dollars to influence more than 100 electoral races. The core objective is to consolidate a bipartisan group in Congress capable of defending the industry's interests in the future.
The organization Fairshake is leading the movement with the largest volume of resources. The group and its affiliates have concentrated about 150 million dollars in support strategies for candidates since the start of the election cycle.
Companies such as Coinbase, Ripple, and Andreessen Horowitz are the primary financiers of this initiative. The funds are used to build ties with lawmakers and establish a more robust political presence in Washington.
This strategy marks a significant shift after years of intense regulatory pressure. Under the previous administration, federal agencies imposed more than 6 billion dollars in fines across nearly one hundred lawsuits against companies in the sector.
The effort is already reflected in legislative results and the ranking of lawmakers by industry advocacy groups. The number of congresspeople with a positive rating has risen from 96 to 332 since the launch of these influence campaigns.
