The entertainment giant seeks operational efficiency through staff reductions and strict expense targets across multiple divisions.

Disney has launched a new round of layoffs expected to affect thousands of employees. The company has instructed managers across various departments to cut operating costs by as much as 20 percent.

The measures impact sectors including theme parks, television networks, and film studios. This move is part of an ongoing strategy to adjust the company's organizational structure.

Company executives confirmed that staff reductions have begun in some divisions and are expected to continue throughout the coming year. The company ended the 2025 fiscal year with approximately 231,000 employees on its global payroll.

The plan includes an early retirement program and cuts in specific departments. Management aims to create financial capacity for new investments focused on future growth.

Other companies in the entertainment sector are also adopting expense reduction policies. The market is awaiting the release of fourth-quarter fiscal results, which is scheduled for November 17.
