Bayer Agriculture Division Sees 41.3% Drop in Ebitda
CropScience results were hit by high operating costs and poor weather in international markets during the third quarter.
Bayer's CropScience division reported an Ebitda of 101 million euros for the third quarter of 2026. This figure represents a 41.3% decline compared to the same period last year.
Operational performance faced direct pressure from weather challenges in Asia and Europe. Higher costs for sold products and increased commercial expenses also contributed to the margin decline, which reached 2.6%.
Revenue for the agricultural unit totaled 3.884 billion euros. The result was supported by demand for soybean and corn inputs in Latin America, while sales of herbicides and fungicides fell.
For the group as a whole, revenue reached 10.053 billion euros. The company recorded a net loss of 672 million euros for the period, despite growth observed in the pharmaceutical division.
The company noted that the third quarter typically carries negative seasonality for the agricultural sector. Bayer's total Ebitda grew 6.9% during the period, reaching 1.615 billion euros.
