Electronics and high-end manufacturing drive growth in Chinese corporate earnings through September 2026.

Profits for China's major industrial firms rose by 15.5% in the first nine months of 2026. The total reached 6.03 trillion yuan during the period. This double-digit growth was supported by the strong performance of high-tech manufacturing and the electronics sector.

In September alone, industrial profits grew by 14.4% year-over-year. The electronics sector played a key role by doubling its earnings compared to the previous year. This segment contributed nearly ten percentage points to the overall expansion of results.

High-tech manufacturing saw a 52% jump in profits. This performance outperformed the average for Chinese industry by more than 36 percentage points. The trend reflects growing demand for data center infrastructure and computing power dedicated to artificial intelligence.

During the first three quarters, advanced manufacturing accounted for 25.5% of total profits for large industrial firms. The data shows a market share gain of 6.2 percentage points compared to the previous year. Value-added industrial production also grew by 5.3% year-to-date.

The scenario demonstrates a structural shift in the Chinese economy toward innovation. National Bureau of Statistics official Yu Weining highlighted the acceleration of new quality productive forces. The country remains focused on transforming its industrial base toward more advanced models.
