Google Completes $32 Billion Acquisition of Wiz
Tech giant finalizes deal to bring cybersecurity firm into its cloud ecosystem following a record-breaking offer.
Google finalized its $32 billion acquisition of Wiz in March of this year. This transaction marks the largest purchase ever made by the Alphabet subsidiary in its corporate history.
Wiz is a cybersecurity company that gained prominence through cloud data protection and advancements in artificial intelligence. The deal was consolidated after roughly two years of negotiations between the parties involved.
Initially, Google presented a $23 billion proposal in 2024. The security firm rejected that amount at the time to pursue plans for an initial public offering on the U.S. stock market.
Less than a year later, Google increased its offer by approximately 39 percent. Wiz accepted the new $32 billion valuation and officially joined the Google Cloud ecosystem.
Wiz has experienced rapid growth since its founding in 2020. The company reached $100 million in annual recurring revenue within just 18 months of starting operations.
