Bitcoin remains above the $80,000 mark this Friday. The digital asset stabilized near $82,000 following a rebound in South Korean tech stocks. The KOSPI index closed the day up 2% after a week of sharp declines.
Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh avoided commenting on potential interest rate hikes during an event with the International Monetary Fund. He stated that he does not pre-judge decisions for the remaining meetings of the year. Investors interpreted this stance as a lack of urgency regarding monetary tightening.
Financial market data shows that the probability of a 25-basis-point hike in October has fallen to 15%. The previous outlook pointed to a 27% chance for such a move. Analysts note that stress in the artificial intelligence sector may influence the US central bank's caution.
Despite the price stabilization, recent US inflation data exceeded forecasts. The producer price index rose 6.3% in September year-over-year. The consumer price index also showed a higher-than-expected increase during the same period.
The global tech sector faces uncertainty regarding funding for artificial intelligence companies. The devaluation of stocks in this segment exceeded $1 trillion during the week. The volatility in these shares reflects concerns about the financial sustainability of companies in the sector.
