Anthropic remains the market's primary hope for a major initial public offering in 2026. This optimism persists even as several technology companies have delayed their plans to go public.
Data from the prediction platform Kalshi assigns a 75% probability to an official announcement from Anthropic this year. The company filed a confidential prospectus with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission in June.
The outlook for other artificial intelligence giants has shifted drastically in recent months. OpenAI ruled out a public market debut for 2026 due to internal concerns regarding technology safety which dropped its odds to just 3%.
Other heavyweights like Databricks, Plaid and Deel also saw their IPO probabilities plummet in investor betting markets. The total number of priced public offerings in the United States shows a 33% decline compared to the previous year.
The scarcity of major tech offerings may increase volatility in risk assets and boost demand for companies with direct exposure to artificial intelligence in the private market.
