Hackers accessed a legacy system at the crypto card platform, but customer funds remain secure.

Crypto card provider Gnosis Pay confirmed that intruders accessed customer information within its legacy system. The company detected the unauthorized activity on November 3 and initiated containment procedures in less than two hours.

The incident affected only the brand's consumer division, which was already scheduled to be shut down on December 20. The corporate platform, which serves fintechs and digital wallets, was not impacted and continues to operate normally.

The company replaced security credentials and patched the vulnerability found in the system. Affected users received email notifications with details regarding the exposed data, although the company did not disclose the total number of people impacted.

As a preventive measure, Gnosis Pay made 3D Secure verification mandatory for all online transactions. The company also strengthened fraud monitoring for wallets and cards while warning customers about the risk of phishing messages that use real personal data.

The case occurs against a backdrop of growing concern regarding the physical safety of digital asset holders. Market reports indicate that targeted attacks against individuals, including home invasions, recorded significant theft volumes in the first half of 2026.
