The Ibovespa fluctuates on fiscal uncertainty while the tech sector faces a sharp global decline.

The Brazilian financial market is facing a period of instability as the Ibovespa struggles with investor distrust regarding economic policy. The commercial dollar continues its upward trend driven by both domestic conditions and the strengthening of the American currency abroad.

Internationally, technology stocks recorded significant losses as the Nasdaq index saw a sharp decline. Concerns over new artificial intelligence regulations in the United States triggered a global sell-off of assets that specifically impacted chip and data infrastructure companies in Asia.

The Brazilian economy is awaiting concrete fiscal adjustment measures from the government. The Central Bank kept the Selic rate at 13.75 percent and the perception that the current level is contractionary provided temporary relief for the future interest rate curve despite persistent caution regarding the future of public accounts.

Recent labor market data in the United States exceeded projections with the creation of 165,000 non-farm jobs and a drop in the unemployment rate to 4.1 percent. The result reinforced the strength of the American economy and added pressure to the dollar which reached higher levels against several global currencies.
