Blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis has confirmed it was the target of a cybersecurity incident. The event occurred recently and follows a pattern seen in other platforms across the sector.
Preliminary investigations rule out unauthorized access to investigative content or authentication credentials. The company stated that only a portion of non-sensitive client data was exposed during the episode.
Renowned external experts have been hired to conduct a comprehensive review of protection systems. The company is also utilizing advanced language models to strengthen its infrastructure against future threats.
The official statement clarifies that the issue is unrelated to the recent cryptocurrency theft at the Binance exchange. Chainalysis continues its monitoring operations focused on global illicit activities.
Recent data from the firm shows that groups linked to North Korea are responsible for nearly 89% of losses in crypto asset hacks this year. This figure represented only 15% of the total recorded in 2021.
