Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has begun a process to discontinue services for certain users. The measure affects clients located in jurisdictions prohibited by the platform, such as Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.
Impacted clients will receive direct communications via email or in-app notifications. These messages contain instructions regarding deadlines for fund withdrawals and the necessary steps for closing accounts.
The company assured that user funds remain secure throughout the transition. The platform continues to operate normally for other clients who have not received official notifications regarding restrictions.
Customer support is available to assist with pending orders and questions about withdrawals. The exchange emphasized the need for caution against phishing attempts and directed users to rely exclusively on official channels for communication.
This move follows a security incident the company faced in late September. At that time, the platform confirmed unauthorized transfers that resulted in significant losses of assets under custody.
