Polygon Expands Banking Infrastructure to Solana Ecosystem
Foreign firms can now link Solana stablecoins to US banking systems without needing a local headquarters.
Polygon has expanded its Open Money Stack payment infrastructure to include the Solana network. This initiative allows eligible foreign companies to access US banking rails using stablecoins without the need to establish a subsidiary in the United States.
The service connects the traditional financial system to Solana's stablecoin infrastructure. Companies can now accept deposits via bank transfers, cards, or cash and convert these funds into digital assets to process global payments.
Users can hold funds in custodial wallets and move assets between Polygon, Ethereum, TRON, and other supported networks. The solution is aimed at fintech companies and remittance providers looking to offer dollar-denominated services without building complex integrations.
Solana currently holds over 15 billion dollars in stablecoins and ranks third among all networks. Polygon, which maintains approximately 3 billion dollars in liquidity, aims to grow its footprint in the payments market by integrating this robust infrastructure.
Polygon Labs CEO Marc Boiron stated that the expansion reflects the goal of facilitating capital movement across different blockchains. The move strengthens interoperability by allowing money to flow across the networks chosen by users.
