Binance Sees $2.3 Billion Net Inflow After Cyberattack Recovery
The platform reverses negative outflows after restoring withdrawals and recovering assets hit by a $6.3 billion hack.
Binance recorded a net inflow of $2.3 billion over the last 24 hours. This movement reverses the heavy outflow trend observed on Monday. The exchange led the volume of inflows among the centralized platforms being monitored.
The recovery follows the company's decision to restore withdrawal access on Sunday. The suspension of withdrawals occurred on Friday due to a cyberattack that resulted in losses of $6.3 billion. The exchange stated that hourly deposits surpassed withdrawals on Tuesday.
The company reported that it has replaced approximately 95% of the assets affected by the incident. The remaining funds involve tokens with lower liquidity that required additional market purchases. Binance guaranteed that it will cover all losses using its own resources and protection funds.
The FBI attributed the attack to North Korea. The North Korean government denied any involvement in the action through an official statement. Despite the positive daily balance, the cumulative total for the last seven days still shows a significant volume of net outflows.
