US Factory Orders Rise 1.8% in September
The result topped analyst forecasts and reflected positive revisions to the previous month's data.
Factory orders in the United States rose by 1.8% in September compared to August. The total volume reached $677.2 billion according to information from the country's Department of Commerce.
The performance exceeded estimates from analysts surveyed by FactSet. Market expectations were limited to a growth of 1.2% for the period.
The report also included adjustments to August data. The result for that month was revised upward from a 0.1% increase to a 0.3% gain over July.
The strengthening of industrial activity reflects demand that is more robust than initially expected. This scenario of economic resilience in the United States directly impacts global risk perception and the trajectory of the dollar against other currencies.
