Zipline Raises $1.5 Billion, Reaching a $21.5 Billion Valuation
Drone delivery startup expands U.S. network with support from giants like Walmart and Uber
Zipline has secured $1.5 billion in a new funding round. This amount brings the company's market valuation to $21.5 billion. The figure represents significant growth compared to the $7.6 billion recorded in January of this year.
The capital will be directed toward increasing manufacturing capacity and expanding a national delivery network across the United States. The company is backed by investors such as Fidelity, J.P. Morgan, and ARK Invest. The strategy focuses on providing logistics infrastructure for retailers and delivery apps.
Strategic partnerships with Walmart and Uber support the startup's growth plan. The agreement with Walmart includes the installation of 300 new operating sites. Meanwhile, the alliance with Uber Eats aims to reach the milestone of 1 million daily deliveries by 2029.
Zipline's operations are already showing impressive results in delivery volume. In the Dallas-Fort Worth region, the company surpassed the milestone of 1 million deliveries completed in 2026. The average delivery time recorded was 19 minutes, outperforming the efficiency of the traditional model.
The company has a ten-year track record focused on autonomous flights. Initially aimed at transporting medical supplies, the startup has traveled 150 million commercial miles. Its business model differs from Amazon by acting as an open platform for various partners in the service sector.
