BASF has raised its core profit forecast for this year. The company now expects to reach between 7.4 billion and 7.8 billion euros. The previous estimate ranged from 6.9 billion to 7.7 billion euros.
The adjustment follows the company's decision to increase prices for various products by up to 30% in March. This measure was a direct response to the surge in energy costs and basic inputs. The situation was triggered by the conflict involving Iran.
The German manufacturer's core profit in the third quarter saw a 15% increase compared to the same period last year. The company produces items ranging from automotive paints to components for sunscreens.
The performance reflects the organization's ability to pass on operating costs in an environment of global geopolitical instability.
