More than 43 million Americans have already cast their ballots in the midterm elections. The current pace points to a higher turnout than the 2018 and 2020 elections in several strategic regions.
Texas is leading the way with a significant volume of voters. The state has already surpassed its total 2022 figures with approximately 1.75 million ballots cast. High participation is occurring in counties with a strong Hispanic community presence.
Data from states that require party affiliation shows that 44% of early votes came from Democrats. Republicans account for 31.2% and independent voters represent 24.7% of the total counted so far.
Experts note that the engagement of Black and Hispanic voters has been a key factor in rising turnout rates. The phenomenon reflects a shift in voter behavior compared to previous cycles.
The final result is expected to determine control of Congress for the next two years. The high volume of early votes consolidates a participation trend that began gaining momentum during the pandemic.
