Bombardments left at least 73 injured and damaged energy infrastructure across several Ukrainian regions

Russia launched a massive offensive against Ukraine overnight. The assault involved 289 drones, 17 ballistic missiles, and 59 cruise missiles aimed at civilian and energy targets.

A clinical hospital in the city of Kharkiv was hit directly by missiles and aerial bombs. The cardiology department suffered severe damage and over a thousand windows were shattered at the medical facility.

The Ukrainian government confirmed that power generation plants and substations were targeted in nine regions. Cities such as Odesa, Dnipro, and Zhytomyr are facing power outages and disruptions to electricity supplies for the population.

The Russian Ministry of Defense justified the operation as an action against sites that supply military factories and the Ukrainian army. Simultaneously, a Ukrainian drone strike caused a fire at an oil refinery in the Russian city of Yaroslavl.

United States diplomats are planning meetings in Brussels and Abu Dhabi to discuss security measures and paths toward peace. The focus of the negotiations involves representatives from the European Union, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany.
