Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Ahmad bin Mohammed al-Sayed, stated that peace is a fundamental requirement for economic prosperity. The remarks were made during the World Investment Forum, organized by the UN in Doha.

Al-Sayed highlighted that economic fragmentation and current conflicts are reshaping the global investment landscape. According to the representative, long-term potential for capital exists only in secure and stable environments.

The event takes place during a time of heightened tension due to the conflict involving Israel and Iran. The blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, an essential route for oil and natural gas transport, has created severe uncertainty regarding energy supplies.

Recent attacks in the region have impacted the Ras Laffan industrial complex in Qatar. Logistical instability pushed oil prices to five-month highs last week.

The minister reinforced the need for predictable international rules to curb global division. He argued that cooperation between nations is the only path to avoid economic isolation and ensure the flow of capital.
