Oil prices saw fluctuations this Tuesday. The market reacted to recent diplomatic efforts to end the conflict involving Iran and the United States. Brent crude for December rose 0.22% to reach 116.07 dollars. WTI for June climbed 0.52% to 102.29 dollars.
Officials from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Pakistan, and Iran met in Tehran on Monday. The goal of the talks is to keep diplomatic channels open and avoid a new escalation in hostilities. Representatives from Qatar also participated in mediation between Washington and Tehran over the weekend.
Despite the negotiations, the outlook remains uncertain. Houthi militias backed by Iran continued attacks against Saudi Arabia over the last few days. The fragility of these resolutions limits investor optimism regarding a definitive stabilization of energy supply.
President Donald Trump stated that he is evaluating the possibility of a deal or an increase in military operations. This stance maintains caution regarding the future of regional tensions. The energy market remains attentive to any change in the strategy of the countries involved in the conflict.
Volatility in energy commodities increases risk aversion in global markets and may pressure the dollar as a store of value. Bitcoin tends to react to these macroeconomic movements as global liquidity and the appetite for risk assets shift in the face of geopolitical crises.
