A spokesperson for the Yemeni government forces stated that the Houthi group fired three missiles at the site. The country's civil conflict has seen a recent escalation following the loss of strategic territories along the Red Sea coast.
Rashad al-Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, labeled the action a terrorist attack. He promised a firm response from government-aligned forces, which receive support from Saudi Arabia.
The Dawn of Yemen operation seeks to regain control of areas held by the Iran-aligned group. Instability in the Red Sea region remains a major concern for the security of global trade routes.
