Melania Trump Hosts Russian and Ukrainian Officials at the White House

First Lady Melania Trump is hosting a meeting with officials from Russia and Ukraine this Thursday. The event at the White House follows a period of truce established in the city of Oleshky last month.

The First Lady's office described the action as an unprecedented diplomatic initiative. Representatives such as Dmytro Lubinets from Ukraine and Yana Lantratova from Russia will be present for the dialogue. Both have already held prior contacts during the pause in conflicts in that region.

Experienced negotiators will accompany the delegates during the talks in Washington. The Kremlin confirmed the attendance of Kirill Dmitriev, a special envoy for Vladimir Putin. Lawmaker David Arakhamia is also expected to join the Ukrainian delegation at the meeting.

United States special envoy Steve Witkoff previously highlighted Dmitriev's role in prisoner release processes. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded the First Lady the Order of Princess Olga in recognition of her recent efforts.

This diplomatic move may reduce risk aversion in global markets by easing geopolitical tensions. This trend tends to pressure the dollar and favor higher volatility assets like Bitcoin.
