International Pressure Mounts for UN Protection Force in Palestine
Reports highlight the destruction of basic infrastructure and social collapse in Gaza and the West Bank

The need for a UN protection force in Palestine has become urgent due to the ongoing destruction of civilian structures. Reports show that Palestinian life faces extreme risks from the expansion of settlements and armed conflict.
In Gaza, approximately 81 percent of existing structures have been destroyed. The healthcare and education systems have completely collapsed while 1.9 million people live in makeshift shelters or tents.
In the West Bank and East Jerusalem, the situation is worsened by settler violence and severe movement restrictions. Between 2023 and mid-2025, dozens of communities were forcibly displaced by military actions and home demolitions.
Data shows that only 19 of the 36 hospitals in Gaza remain operational. The systematic destruction of livelihoods and agricultural land threatens the long-term survival of local communities.
Prolonged geopolitical instability in the Middle East is increasing risk perception in global markets. This climate of uncertainty tends to boost the demand for safe-haven assets and put pressure on the volatility of the dollar against emerging market currencies.
