Europe Prepares Military Drill for Potential Ukraine Troop Deployment
UK and France lead 3,000-soldier training in Poland to ensure stability after a potential peace deal
The UK and France are leading a military exercise in Poland to test the mobilization of a multinational force for Ukraine. About 3,000 troops from 12 European nations are participating in the activities between November 9 and 22. The goal is to rehearse transport logistics and command integration across different countries.
The planning focuses on a security force aimed at rebuilding Ukrainian armed forces after hostilities end. Western officials state that the contingent will not participate in offensive operations. The group will also not operate under direct NATO command or in ceasefire monitoring missions.
The presence of foreign troops faces opposition from Russia, which has labeled the initiative a legitimate target. The British government emphasized that the exercise turns political commitments into real military readiness. The training covers land, sea, and air operations to ensure the force is capable of defending itself.
The Koalicja exercise seeks to resolve questions about the practical viability of this coalition of willing countries. The mission does not include participation from the United States. British military command describes the initiative as an important step to ensure long-term Ukrainian stability and security.
