Amundi Launches Tokenized Index Fund on Ethereum
Europe's largest asset manager expands digital offerings with STOXX Europe 600 index
Amundi, the largest asset manager in Europe, has launched a tokenized share class for its STOXX Europe 600 index fund. The operation leverages the Ethereum network infrastructure to provide digital exposure to 600 companies of various sizes across the European market.
The project was developed in partnership with financial services firm CACEIS. This initiative expands the manager's operations in the digital asset sector, which were previously limited to money market funds.
The company stated that the fund will remain available through traditional investment channels. Tokenization aims to improve settlement speed and operational efficiency for institutional clients and digital platforms.
The global tokenized stock market reached a total value of 4.24 billion dollars by early November. This amount represents a growth of nearly 27 percent in the last thirty days, although most products remain concentrated in United States assets.
European companies are pushing regulators for faster reforms in the sector. The goal is to remove time restrictions on licenses and expand asset eligibility within the European Union's distributed ledger technology pilot regime.
