Bitcoin is facing a demand test after recording 643 million dollars in outflows from exchange-traded funds. The price recovery, which hovered near the 77,000 dollar mark on October 31, is taking place against a backdrop of increased exposure in derivatives.
Recent data shows that forced liquidations hit 1.53 billion dollars across the crypto market within a 24-hour window. About 84% of this volume consisted of long positions that were abruptly closed during the downturn.
Open interest in Bitcoin perpetual contracts on Binance grew by 4.5% between late October and the following morning. This rise in pending positions is occurring alongside the forced closure of other orders, highlighting a complex dynamic of market leverage.
Analytics platforms show that aggregate exposure in Bitcoin contracts reached 28 billion dollars in notional value. This amount represents a 3% increase compared to the previous 24-hour period, reinforcing caution regarding the composition of the current price rebound.
Volatility in derivatives and capital outflows from ETFs increase the asset's sensitivity to macroeconomic events. Attention is now shifting to the release of United States payroll data, which is expected in early November.
