Bitcoin lost momentum this Thursday after an attempt to break the $85,000 mark. The digital asset retreated nearly 3% and returned to a level below $82,000. This movement erased the gains recorded the previous day.
The devaluation occurred shortly after Tesla released its third-quarter financial results. The company reported revenue of $28.05 billion, a figure slightly below market estimates. The main point of concern was capital expenditure, which reached $4.73 billion, well below the projected $7.96 billion.
Analysts note that this level of investment raises concerns about the artificial intelligence sector. The market interpreted the data as a less aggressive stance by the company in the current tech race. Executive Elon Musk stated that spending is expected to grow only starting next year.
The cautious sentiment also hit the Asian market. South Korea's KOSPI index closed the trading session down 3.52%. The index is struggling to sustain a recovery after hitting its lowest level since late July.
Market data shows that open interest on crypto platforms reached $55.95 billion shortly before the reversal. This increase in leverage raises vulnerability to deeper corrections. The price of Bitcoin found resistance at a downward trend line on the three-day chart.
