Uniswap Expands Token Jar Tool for Fee Conversion
The system lets app operators receive fees in stablecoins via arbitrage executed by external searchers.

Uniswap released the Token Jar tool for use by other applications on October 29. The system allows operators to convert accumulated fees into specific tokens through a fixed payment defined in the contract.
Robinhood already uses this technology to process fees collected via the Uniswap API. The mechanism delivers USDC and USDG to operators while third parties known as searchers execute the asset swaps.
The process relies on a contract called Releaser that specifies the amount and destination of the payment. The jar does not have an automatic price oracle to adjust values based on market fluctuations.
Searchers identify opportunities when the value of the assets in the jar exceeds the cost of the fixed payment and execution fees. Competition between these agents tends to reduce the profit margins available in the operation.
Uniswap clarifies that the system does not guarantee gains because asset balances and market prices fluctuate while the release cost remains static. Control over protocol fees remains under the governance of the Uniswap DAO.
