Solana Bot Generates $1.4 Billion in Volume With Minimal Capital
Wash trading on Raydium pools inflates token liquidity using only $12,000

A single wallet on the Solana network moved $1.4 billion in suspicious trading volume. This activity accounts for nearly one quarter of the total volume recorded on Raydium's concentrated liquidity pools between September and October.
Data from Bitquery reveals that the operator used approximately $12,000 in initial capital to execute thousands of transactions. The scheme involved rapid buying and selling of tokens across 438 different pools to artificially inflate trading figures.
The operation focused on assets mimicking the names of well-known cryptocurrencies such as XRP and Litecoin. The method consisted of performing successive swaps of USDC for tokens and returning the value to the pool within seconds. This process generated massive volume with minimal operational costs.
Monitoring platforms displayed severe discrepancies between reported liquidity and actual reserves. One cited example shows a pool with $579 million in displayed liquidity that held only $19 in USDC reserves.
The case exposes vulnerabilities in the reliability of volume data on decentralized exchanges. Investors use these metrics to gauge market activity and the ease of entering or exiting positions in specific assets.
